More about landscaping

Crystalbrook’s landscaping crew maintains all common areas and lanes. If you like, they can also do weed control, mowing, edging, blowing, etc., on your property if it is not enclosed by a fence or deck. Many homeowners are happy to take on these tasks themselves so we have an Opt-in/Opt-out Form indicating your preference. Our property management company updates the form with you annually, but it can also be amended at any time if your needs change.

Composed of homeowner-volunteers, the our Landscape/Architecture Committee monitors compliance with the association’s CC&Rs and initiates community beautification projects.

A word about Architectural Requests (ARCs): Homeowners have a fair amount of latitude in making changes to their yards and gardens. Bigger projects like a complete landscape renovation, removal or installing plants/trees over 3 feet tall, adding or replacing fencing and decks, etc., require an architectural request form because the change could impact neighbors. If you are unsure whether a form is needed, contact CAP.

Physical changes to your home, eg, new fencing or windows, a new door color, etc., always require an ARC. It is referred to the board of directors for final approval. Allow four to six weeks for review and approval. Again, if you have questions, just check with CAP or a board member.
