Mary Harnetiaux

I am very excited to run again for Crystalbrook’s Board of Directors. Over my last three years on the board, I have enjoyed meeting new neighbors, learning and contributing at board meetings and assisting and advocating for my neighbors and other Crystalbrook homeowners.

I am likewise very proud to have launched the Crystalbook website (with the help of the content management system Square Space :-) during my term. Site analytics show a steady increase in use of the site, and I would see adding more homeowner-friendly features if re-re-elected. I also have valued my continued work with our Landscape Committee, including completing the landscaping of our two HOA entrances at Davis Rd./152nd and Villlage Lane/Trillium Lane. I’d hope to continue this work on community improvements, especially at the secondary entrances to Trillium, Shallowbrook and New Plymouth Lanes and along the creek.

As for new initiatives, I believe aging infratructure (drainage systems, irrigation systesms, etc.) will become an increasingly important conversation among the board and homeowners. I would suggest the board initiate a comprehensive homeowner survey to help assess homeowner priorities and concerns and provide a roadmap for planning and budgeting. I would be happy to facilitate the survey process, not unlike the pet survey we conducted a couple of years ago.

As I mentioned in my 2018 candidate questionnaire, I like board work. My 30 years of experience as a communications/public relations professional with institutions like Community Colleges of Spokane and YMCA of the Inland Northwest have taught me the importance of collaboration, consensus and inclusion — values that are still important to me today. I think I have shared this with the Crystalbrook board over the last three years and would like to continue to do so.
